Volunteer. A large group of hands together with a red heart painted on it
You'll meet great people, learn new things, and you make the world a better place. You'll gain valuable skills, work experience, and you'll learn more about yourself & how you work with others.
The people you meet are usually people who want to make a difference - tap into their desire to help you and don't be afraid to ask questions about how they got to where they are. Be open to new experiences & use those experiences to propel you forward in life. Take the time to try new things.
Check out...
Get involved, life is way more fun when you’re doing something you love!

Job Shadows & InternshipsGo To Top of Page

Go For It!
Students interested in a job shadow are encouraged to drop by the Career Center & pick up an application. Screening includes attendance, grades, discipline, and teacher/counselor recommendation. Apply early, job shadows take weeks to arrange.
An internship is like a job shadow, only it's over an extended period of time. They can be either paid or unpaid, and it looks great on your resume! Not many internships are available in our community - stop by the Career Center to inquire.
Community members & parents who are interested in exploring the idea of hosting a job shadow or internship in their workplace are encouraged to contact the Career Center.

The ASVAB is a little different from most of the widely available tests. It measures current knowledge and skills related to success in different kinds of jobs, like: General Science, Arithmetic Reasoning, Word Knowledge, Paragraph Comprehension, Mathematics Knowledge, Electronics Information, Auto and Shop Information, and Mechanical Comprehension.
It's just one more excellent tool for career exploration! El Dorado HS will offer the ASVAB on October 29, 2018 and March 4, 2019.  Please Visit the ASVAB page on this website for more information and to register!
