Testing Week Information

Week of May 4 (NOW):

Read the 2020 AP Testing Guide and watch the overview video.

Practice with the exam demo. Use the demo to practice different ways to submit exam responses. World language students are able to practice with the AP World Language Exam App beginning the week of May 11.  Consider the required and recommended resource list. These are the resources you may use during your exam and how to access them.

Two Days Before Each Exam:

Make sure to locate your e-ticket. Two days before each exam, you will receive an email with your unique exam e-ticket that includes your AP ID. On exam day, you will use your e-ticket to access the exam. If you have not received your exam e-ticket by email, you may access it through your student account on My AP. E-Tickets are nontransferable and shouldn’t be shared with anyone. If you have not been receiving College Board emails you still have time to confirm their contact information.
Complete the AP Exam Day Checklist for each exam you are taking. You should complete the checklist and keep a printed or handwritten copy with you for reference during testing.

On Exam Day:

Students should click their e-ticket to check in 30 minutes before exam start time. Students should allow 80 minutes for each exam 30 minutes to enter their AP ID, name, and other information, and 50 minutes to draft and submit their responses. Know your local testing time.

Know what to do if something goes wrong. If you accidentally close the browser, your device crashes, or you temporarily lose internet access, you can quickly click your exam e-ticket again to return to the exam. You should continue the exam, and if you feel at the end of the exam that the temporary disruption negatively impacted your performance, you can request approval to take the makeup exam at cb.org/requestmakeup. You can also request a makeup if you lost too much time due to a technical problem, can’t connect to your exam, or experienced some other serious disruption.

AP Exam Updates for 2020

Below are a few important items for your student to review and complete if necessary.
  • AP Exams will be given from May 11 through May 22.
  • Make-up test dates from June 1 through June 5.
College Board strongly encourages students to take the exam on the Primary Exam day (May 11 through May 22); if there is technical difficulty while testing at this time, students will be allowed to notify the College Board and take the exam during the make-up test dates (June 1 through June 5).

TASKS for AP Student to complete:

  1. Students, it is extremely critical that you regularly check your email for correspondence from the College Board. All AP testing information will be provided via the email you have on record in your College Board account.  The College Board is recommending that you do NOT use your school email but rather a personal email and change this in your College Board account.  This is a great time for you to review your College Board account for accuracy.  In the next few weeks if you are not receiving information from the College Board you should contact the College Board directly (1-888-225-5427).
  2. If you do not have access to the internet or a device, the College Board is working on solutions to help students get what they need to show their best work. If you need assistance please go to this link and complete the form. https://collegeboard.tfaforms.net/74. The College Board will contact you to further discuss your needs. The deadline to complete this form is April 24th.
  3. In your College Board account under AP Profile you will be able to indicate the school or institution you wish to receive your free AP Score Send.
  4. If you are 100% sure you do not want to take the AP exam, please log into http://www.totalregistration.net/AP/052485 prior to your exam date and request a cancellation; a full refund will then be approved.
