Today's Science at Facts on File
Log into the Facts on File Database and select "Today's Science." From here you can do a general search, go into the Science Encyclopedia, or search the glossary or the image database.
ECHO Science and Technology Virtual Center
This is a compendium of catalogued and annotated sites on the history of science, technology and medicine.
Periodic Table of the Elements: Los Alamos
This table includes some history of each element along with the usual information. It was named by Scientific American as one of the 50 Best Science Resources on the Web.

The Nine Planets
The Nine Planets is an overview of the history, mythology, and current scientific knowledge of each of the planets and moons in our solar system. Each page has text and images, some have sounds and movies, most provide references to additional related information.

This site from National Geographic covers earthquakes, volcanoes, tornados, and hurricanes. Included are interactive maps, photos, and videos. You can even re-create their own disaster.

Information Center for the Environment (ICE)
The Information Center for the Environment is a cooperative effort of environmental scientists at the University of California, Davis and other collaborators interested in environmental protection. Their site provides access to a wide variety of environmental information including data, maps, models, and reports.
National Library for the Environment
Contains reports, databases, educational resources, daily environmental and Congressional news, conference information, career listings and counseling, and Congressional Research Service reports.

DC Physics Humor
This site is mostly for fun, but it does have links to practice problems and other physics information.

Conceptual Physics

Virtual Labs and Simulations

The U.S. government weather web site, offering Current Weather, Climatic Data, Weather News, and related weather information.
UM Weather
This source of weather information Provides access to thousands of forecasts, images, and a large collection of weather links.
Yahoo! Weather
Check the weather by Zip Code, get ski reports, weather maps and images, storm information, and other similar weather data, as well as news articles about weather related topics.
Intellicast
Includes a wide variety of weather information, but be sure to look for "Weather 101" and "Dr. Dewpoint". You'll find them on the menu under Education.

Naval Research Laboratory Monterey
