Text Box: Passes:
Students are welcome to use the library before and after school and during lunch. During class periods, individual students must have a buff colored library pass from their teacher with the student’s name, the date, time, purpose, and the teacher’s signature. Our limited physical space is a major constraint; please do not send students to the library unless they need library resources.
Sign Ups:
To reserve the library or lab for your entire class, use the sign up sheets on the clipboard in my office. Taking a few minutes to talk about the activity you plan for students helps us immensely to plan for your visit. Together, we can effectively integrate information literacy into your curriculum, to raise test scores. Also, we can give you a good idea of the range and depth of resources available on your selected topics. We are glad to place books on reserve so they can be shared by all of your students.
If you know there are topics you will want students to investigate, we can plan ahead to add resources students will need. If you are looking for ideas for library activities, I have a file of assignments used by other teachers as well as various other resources.
When your class comes in I will spend time with them reviewing the steps in the Big6 Information Problem Solving Process and introducing appropriate resources.
Teachers are expected to remain in the library with their class.
I look forward to working with you.
Jo Avery
