2023-24 AP Exam Information
Taking the Advanced Placement exams is an important part of all AP courses. El Dorado High School encourages all students to take AP exams for the AP classes in which they are enrolled. Scoring well on an AP exam can often earn students college credit, enhance the college application, and save a significant amount on tuition.
For the 2024 AP exams, students will register online. This will be a two-step process. The registration will take a few minutes and can be completed from any computer with internet access.
This year each AP exam will cost $98.00. During registration, students have the option to pay for the exam(s) in full or place a $40 deposit per exam. Students requiring financial assistance should contact Mrs. Martinson by email, lmartinson@eduhsd.k12.ca.us, or visit the El Dorado Counseling Office to learn more.
STEP 1:
Go to www.myap.collegeboard.org, sign into your student account, and join your AP Classroom(s).

- NOTE: Joining the College Board AP Classroom does not order the student an AP Exam. Total Registration must be used to order and pay for each exam. Follow step 2 below.
STEP 2:
To order, go to TotalRegistration.net/AP/052485 to purchase the exam. We strongly recommend that a guardian and student are both present while registering to ensure that the correct exams are ordered and the STUDENT name is entered correctly.
Registration opens on Monday, September 11, 2023, at 8:00 AM and ends on Wednesday, March 7, 2024, at 3:59 PM.
Please be sure to have a credit card or debit card available before beginning registration. Student/Guardian will choose whether to pay their entire balance without an additional fee or make a partial payment for a fee of $2.75 charged by Total Registration.
Below are the important dates for the registration process:
- Monday, September 11, 2023, at 8:00 AM: Registration begins. TotalRegistration.net/AP/052485
- Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at 3:59 PM: Registration and payments after this date will incur a $40 late fee per exam for AP courses that begin in the Fall Term. Courses that begin in the Spring term will NOT incur a late fee. Registration for these classes may occur until the March 7 deadline.
- Thursday, November 9, 2023: Partial payment (Deposit) Deadline
- Wednesday, November 15, 2023: *Cancel Deadline - Students may cancel and receive a full refund before this date.
- Thursday, March 7, 2024, at 3:59 PM: Registration ends. Students may no longer register for AP exams.
- Friday, March 8, 2024, at 11:59 PM: Final Payment Deadline. Registrations that have not been paid in full will be canceled and exams will not be ordered.
