- Attend College Rep Visits in the Upper Quad at lunch.
- Consider taking a leadership role in one of your activities.
Spring
- Take the ACT or the SAT - sign up early to get a good testing location. Note: Many 4-year colleges no longer require these tests. Be sure to visit the website of the college(s) you are interested in to see if they require the ACT or SAT.
- If you are interested in a UC campus, click here to see if you should consider taking SAT subject tests.
- Begin investigating scholarship opportunities. Local scholarships will be available during the Winter/Spring of your senior year.
- Attend Career Expo at UMHS in the Spring.
Summer Before 12th Grade:
- Start narrowing down your list of colleges and consider taking campus tours to help narrow it down even more.
- Contact the schools you are interested in and request information on applications and admissions. Ask about financial aid and deadlines.
- Use the Studentaid.gov aid-estimator, and compare the results to the actual costs at the colleges to which you will apply.
